Great Lakes Wrestling Camp

This past weekend SLP Wrestling attended the first annual Great Lakes Wrestling Camp that was held in Spirit Lake. We had a total of 14 wrestlers attend this camp over the two and half days. This camp was attended by 5 Northwest Iowa schools, MOC/FV, Emmetsburg, Okoboji, SBL, and SLP. A total of 54 campers attended. Campers experienced a unique camp with boating, tubing, and fishing every day along with 1-2 wrestling sessions a day. Coltyn McCrystal who competed for SBL and is now at Nebraska was our clinician, and campers spend the night out under the stars in tents Our focus as coaches was to provide our kids with a unique camp that allowed them to grow as wrestlers, but also enjoy the Great Lakes and recreational activites. We look forward to continueing this camp and growing it to be something our wrestlers look forward to attending each summer.
