Conflict At Carver

This past weekend Dakoda Powell competed at a preseason tournament in Iowa City. Dakoda wrestled in the 182 lb. bracket and ended up taking 4th. He competed really well for his first high school tournament. He had some really talented and older kids in his bracket. Dakoda started the day with a pin in the first round and a 5-2 dec. in the quarters before dropping a match to a Illinois state champ in the semifinals. On the backside Powell pinned a Iowa state placer in the consalation semis to wrestle for 3rd/4th. In his final match of the day he dropped a hard match by dec. 3-9.

Next weekend we will have some more Indian wrestlers competing at another preseason tournament over in Ceder Falls. These preseason tournaments are great experience for these guys for the upcoming season which starts in 4 WEEKS!!!
