Week 1 in the books...

Hard to believe the first week of the 2016-2017 season is already done. I always try to find ways to push these guys past their limit and challenge them during this week. Every year when the last practice of the week has finished I always think about how well the guys did. They always seem to rise to the challenge and surpass my expectations. We had a lot of things going on with the Lake Park guys competing in the State Championship Football Game, team pictures on the 2nd practice, and all the other little odds and ends that need to be taken care of during that first week. We made some huge strides forward and I am really looking forward to what these guys are gonna do during this season. Not only as results from duals and tournaments, but the amount of growth they are going to make as a team and individually.

Looking forward to next week and continuing to push these guys both physically and mentally. We will get the guys back from Lake Park after their impressive football season and will be 36 strong. One of the coolest things to see in the wrestling room is the brotherhood that these guys have for each other. It's not a separate mix of freshman, sophomores, and upperclassmen. Everyone has each others back and looks out for one another. With our first competition coming up soon (Dec. 1). I know we are not going to be 100% ready as far as what we can be and how we wrestle, but the guys have really been putting some solid practices together and I feel confident we will be pretty strong coming out of the gate this season.
